Boy Harsher holds No. 1 as Miss Construction and NNHMN storm the podium

The Dark Current Chart for 17–23 July 2026 has a familiar leader and an almost completely rebuilt field. Boy Harsher's “Jeans” remains at No. 1 for a third published week, while 12 debuts bring a surge of industrial, EBM, darkwave, coldwave, synthpop and post-punk into the Top 30.

Boy Harsher makes it three weeks at No. 1

“Jeans” holds the top spot with an Impact Score of 57.2. The result gives Boy Harsher a third consecutive published chart week at No. 1 and a commanding 15.3-point leadover the nearest challenger.

That challenger is brand new to the ranking. Miss Construction's “F.M.P.” opens at No. 2 with 41.9, while NNHMN's “Gangster” debuts at No. 3 with 40.5. The New Division and Podsongs slip one place to No. 4 with “Idols,” and Rue Oberkampf's “Eiszeit” holds No. 5.

Twelve debuts remake the darkwave Top 30

This is a week defined by new arrivals: 12 of the 30 positions are debuts, including four inside the Top 10. Behind “F.M.P.” and “Gangster,” Years Of Denial's “We Operate on Each Other” enters at No. 7 and Anders Manga's “Don't Deliver Us From Evil” starts at No. 9.

SOFT VEIN's “Learning to Talk” leads the next group at No. 12. Sydney Valette, Janosch Moldau and Crying Vessel arrive at Nos. 17, 18 and 20, followed by debuts from Noisegun, The Slashes, BlakLight with Fictional, and Lucy Dreams. The breadth of the entry wave makes this one of the chart's sharpest week-to-week resets.

Mental Discipline scores the biggest climb

“Rise Again” is this week's strongest mover. Mental Discipline climbs 11 places to No. 14as the track's Impact Score rises 6.1 points to 32.1. It is the largest positional gain anywhere in the published chart.

j:dead's “Draws My Blood” also advances five places to No. 16, and Kalte Steine's “Crying Out” moves up three to No. 11. Those gains stand out in a ranking where the volume of new entries pushes many returning tracks downward despite relatively stable scores.

Rue Oberkampf finishes at No. 5

“Eiszeit” reaches its fourth published chart appearance while holding No. 5 with an Impact Score of 38.0. Dark Current tracks can make a maximum of four published appearances, so Rue Oberkampf closes its run with a final Top 5 result before the track is archived.

How the Dark Current Chart is ranked

Dark Current is a weekly chart for current dark-scene releases. Tracks are ranked from precomputed metric snapshots taken at or before the Friday cutoff. The deterministic Impact Score can use Spotify popularity snapshots, observed artist audience metrics, artist followers and popularity, release age, artist top-track rank and approved manual overrides. Track stream counts are not used.
